What Are Interest Rates Going To Do? 7/14/08

You like me, are asked this question every day. "What Do You Think Interest Rates Are Going To Do?" Now here is a customer focused report for Mortgage Market Direction:

Week of: Monday, July 14, 2008

Presently Market Conditions Are:
Mortgage rates ended the week moderately despite the negative headlines in the press. “Investors' confidence has been propped up by the comments made by various leaders (OFHEO, the Fed, and the Treasury) about the importance of Fannie and Freddie”, said Steve Van Order, chief fixed-income strategist at Calvert Funds.

My Expectations Are:
Inflation data will be the highlight of a full Economic Calendar this week. The Producer Price Index (PPI) and Retail Sales reports will post on Tuesday. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Industrial Production reports are due on Wednesday. Housing Starts are on the schedule for Thursday. In addition, Fed Chief Bernanke will be testifying on Tuesday and Wednesday. News about Fannie and Freddie will also be influential this week.

As Your Trusted Advisor For Life, My Guidance For You Is:
With housing prices favoring a buyers market and rates holding at historic lows, now is the best time to contact your mortgage professional so they can structure a mortgage solution to meet your financial goals.
